Difference between lithium ion battery with and without protective plate

The lithium ion battery has a protective plate, which can control the lithium battery cell to work in the specified working environment without explosion, combustion and other phenomena; Lithium ion batteries without protective plates are prone to explosion, combustion and other phenomena. For the battery with protection plate, the charging protection voltage can be 4.125V, the discharge protection can be 2.4V, and the charging current can be within the maximum range of the lithium ion battery; The battery without protective plate will be overcharged, discharged and overcurrent, and the battery will be easily damaged.

The 18650 lithium-ion battery without protective plate is shorter than the battery with protective plate. Due to the initial design, some equipment cannot use the battery with protective plate. Without the protective plate, the cost is low and the price is relatively cheap. Lithium ion battery without protective plate is suitable for use with relevant experience. Generally, it should not be over discharged or over charged. Its service life is not much different from that with protective plate.

18650 lithium ion battery with and without battery protection plate has the following differences:

1. The height of the cell without plate is 65mm, and the height of the cell with plate is 69-71mm.

2. Discharge to 20V. If the battery does not discharge when it reaches 2.4V, it indicates that there is a protective plate.

3. Touch the positive and negative stages. If there is no response from the battery after 10 seconds, it means there is a protective plate. If the battery is hot, there is no protective plate.
